The new Gallery in Penang unfolds with quiet intention, guiding you through a tactile journey of textures and finishes. Every surface, every detail is placed to be explored, inviting you to pause and imagine new possibilities.
Entering through a soft threshold, the restored facade offers a quiet welcome. Inside, the reception sets the tone: Aptico finishes on the walls and counter, reclaimed wood details, and an overhead feature made entirely from laminate offcuts. It’s a space that’s calm but expressive, understated yet rich in materiality.
A long gallery-like corridor lined with full-sized laminate panels. Vintage mosaic floor tiles and steel-framed windows were preserved, a tribute to the building’s past. Each element invites you to stop, and look closer.
A staircase beneath a glass roof draws you upward – a quiet transition into a light-filled The ceiling lifts to reveal the original pitched roof, framing and flexible space where materials come alive in use.
Here, a live kitchen sits takes center stage, finished with EDL compact. Along the walls, Viefe handles are tucked neatly into their own corner, revealing elevated accessories for interior design possibilities.
